OSU Extension is made up of several different program focus areas. Agriculture and Natural Resources, 4-H Youth Development, Family and Consumer Sciences and Community Development.  Through these program areas, we are constantly looking for innovative ways to partner with community groups and organizations to extend our resources to the people of Putnam County.  We welcome you to our website and hope you will visit us often.

4-H Was Born in Ohio On January 15, 1902, A. B. Graham, superintendent of schools in Clark County, established the Boys and Girls Agricultural Clubs (the earliest name for 4-H) when he organized the Springfield Township Agricultural Experiment Club.

Agronomy Night - Pesticide Recertification Dates Set
Dates have been set for the 2010 Putnam County Agronomy Night. It will be held on Thursday, January 21 starting at 6:30 PM. Pesticide recertification dates are scheduled for Tuesday, February 9 from 9AM - Noon & Tuesday, March 16 from 6:00PM - 9:00PM. These events will be held at the Kalida K of C on SR 115 in Kalida.

Applications for the 2010 Putnam County Junior Fair Board are available at the Extension Office (ESC Building) or on the Putnam County 4-H web site.

Currently there are four positions on the Putnam County 4-H Council for 2010 that needs to be filled. Each member of the council is elected to a three-year term. The council manages many 4-H activities throughout the year including the Advisors Banquet, Chicken BBQ, 4-H Endowment and much more. Please consider being a part of this important group.
